We encourage all Gatton students to explore their world and get to know new and different people, places, and traditions. Understanding more about the world and how it works makes our students more competitive both at home or abroad. The Gatton College is committed to meeting the diverse educational needs of our students by partnering with top business schools from around the world and through exchange opportunities throughout North America.
Currently, Gatton offers several options to diversify your education:

- Consider a North American exchange opportunity through the National Student Exchange (NSE). NSE allows student to exchange at one of nearly 200 campuses throughout the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada at in-state tuition rates!
Please note: The Gatton exchange programs listed below are competitive and space is limited. As a general rule, Gatton students will need to have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA to be considered for a Gatton exchange program and should discuss the application process with an advisor as far as a year in advance. Typically, students will need to be in upper-division to participate in a Gatton exchange program.
Burgundy School of Business
Only 1 hour and 40 minutes east of Paris, the Burgundy School of Business (BSB) is one of the most selective management schools in France. Its excellent academic tradition draws a large number of international students each semester. Students have the option of staying in an apartment, student residence, or a family home stay program, which comes highly recommend. Gatton students can study at BSB during the fall, spring, and/or summer. Many of the professors are native English speakers.
The city of Dijon represents the rich culture of France as well. It is the capital of the Burgundy region, famous for its wines as well as the local Dijon mustard. It also has an outstanding cultural scene full of Parisian-style cafes and restaurants with many beautiful churches, cathedrals, and landmarks scattered throughout the region.
Grenoble School of Management
Grenoble, located at the foot of the Alps in Southwest France, is an excellent option for Gatton students. The Grenoble School of Management is ranked as one of the top ten business schools in France, specializing in management. Gatton students have the option to study in Grenoble for the fall, spring, and/or summer terms. Business classes are taught in English and French language classes, a mandatory component of the semester exchange program, are offered for students of every skill level.
Grenoble is a large city known for its outdoor sports and young, international scene. Its central location in the heart of Europe makes travelling throughout the region easy. Grenoble offers an excellent opportunity to live in an international setting in the beautiful French Alps.
University of Neuchatel
With 20% of students coming from abroad, the University of Neuchatel is one of the most international universities in Switzerland. Many of the professors at the UniNE enjoy an international reputation, and they bring their wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom in a highly personalized teaching style. Students benefit from small class size, group work, seminars, and, for those students going for the fall semester, a free ten-day language and culture orientation immersion program with organized excursions.
Although UK/Gatton students can go to UniNe in the fall and/or spring terms, students going in the Fall must alert UniNe that they will need to complete their final exams before the Christmas break, as UniNe students typically wait until January.
Generally, the language of instruction is French*. However, Gatton students with senior standing (90 UK credits), can study finance and economics in English. Students wishing to study other subjects should be conversational in French at the European B2 Portfolio level (advanced intermediate 300 level). Alternatively, students can also study French language at UniNe's Institute of French Language and Culture.
Neuchatel is a friendly and small-sized city steeped in history, hosting a total student population of about 4,000. As a result, you'll find a young and cosmopolitan atmosphere, with plenty of things to see and do. Beautiful historic architecture, numerous coffee shops and restaurants, and a vibrant social scene. And, although Switzerland is generally quite an expensive country, Neuchatel is much more affordable.
*Please note that the UniNe website operates in French and English. Because French is the official language, the information published on the French pages may be updated more frequently and thus may be more accurate. For example, the academic calendar published in English may not include the exams dates, so make sure you review the French pages as well.
Seoul, South Korea
Korea University Business School (KUBS)
KUBS, located in Seoul, South Korea, is the number one business school in Korea and is determined to be the top-ranked business school in Asia. Gatton students will study alongside students from all around the world, taught by the world's elite scholars. KUBS offers students state-of-the-art academic facilities as well as a modern international residence hall. Students who have returned from Seoul praise the school's excellent buddy program and the industry tours that are provided for international students. KUBS is an excellent choice for both the fall and/or spring terms.
Exchange students are also eligible to apply for fellowships and housing support. The financial package will be determined based on the applicant's academic qualifications and financial need.
Seoul is a fast-paced, modern metropolis with a lively nightlife. Returning students are the first to recommend KUBS!
Stockholm School of Economics
Riga, the capital city of Latvia, is considered to be the metropolitan center of the entire Baltic region. Riga is well known for its architecture, opera, ballet and a variety of live music events with history dating back 800 years to times when it developed as part of the Hanseatic League. Riga has always been an international city serving as a gateway between the East and the West. Today, Riga is a dynamic and vibrant city of more than 700,000 people in one what has been one of the fastest growing economies in Europe. Students are encouraged to experience "the new Europe."
SSE Riga was founded to prepare entrepreneurs for success in international markets. Campus is located in a beautifully renovated Art Nouveau building in the city center, just a 10 minute walk from Old Town. Students enjoy a dynamic international learning environment and all classes are taught in English. Courses are offered in economics, finance, accounting, management, organizational behavior, and strategy. Campus housing is available or you can rent a furnished flat. The program is available during the spring term only.

WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management
WHU is the number one business school in Germany and is located along the Rhine River, about fifteen minutes from the historic and larger city of Koblenz. WHU enrolls only about 700 students and is renowned for the close knit nature of the student body. Students will most certainly develop lasting relationships with their peers as well as their professors. Students also have the opportunity to make lasting connections with several major corporations, such as Google, Lloyd's, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and many others, all of which pay regular visits to WHU to recruit the top notch students. While living in Vallendar, students can choose to stay in residence halls or apartments close to campus. WHU is a great choice for the fall, spring, and/or summer terms.
Students are encouraged to immerse themselves into the German culture. The neighboring city of Koblenz offers a thriving nightlife and can be described as the most beautiful "corner" of Germany caught in-between the picturesque landscapes of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Students should not miss a riverboat tour of the many castles and fortresses along these two rivers. And, don't forget the cathedral in Koln, just a short trip by train. Of course, Germany is a great home base for travel throughout Europe.
Students who wish to participate in this competitive exchange, should have a strong GPA and have completed most of the Gatton "core" classes.
Vienna University of Economics and Business
Vienna University of Economics and Business is recognized as one of the top 50 business schools in Europe, and attracts students from all over the world. Vienna has something to offer students of all majors for either the entire academic year or spring semester. (Students may study in fall but course options are somewhat limited as the regular fall term does not end until January). The exchange program fills up quickly so do not delay! WU also offers a very affordable summer program.
The university is situated in the center of Vienna, an exuberant city with a thriving social and cultural life. It is the economic, political, and cultural center for Austria. Vienna's location also encourages travel to Prague, Budapest, and other Eastern European cities that are often missed by students studying in Western Europe.
Oxford Brookes University
Set in an historic student city, Oxford Brookes is one of the UK’s leading modern universities and enjoys an international reputation for teaching excellence and innovation as well as strong links with business and industry. Oxford, the city, is a student city like no other. It has nearly 40,000 students in the city from all over the world and from all kinds of backgrounds. Indeed, students make up 26 percent of the city's working age population.
Oxford Brookes is based on three campuses in and around Oxford. Together, they offer a great campus environment complete with a full range of amenities including multiple gyms, libraries, student housing, and a wonderful student center. Brookes buses link the campuses with the halls of residence, city center, and railway station,
The business school is located on the Wheatley campus which is approximately 15 minutes away from the main campus (Headington) by bus. However, students receive a free bus pass and live on the main campus which is centrally located and approximately 15 minutes from downtown. This exchange program can work for students looking to study abroad during the fall, spring, and academic year.
