LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 11, 2024) – The Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky recently hosted its 4th annual Women in Finance Summit. The event brought together successful female finance alumni from across the country to share their experiences and insights with current Gatton finance students.
The summit, organized by William E. Seale Endowed Professor and University Research Professor Kristine Hankins, featured a conversation between Janet Dietrich, Gatton Alumna and former Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Group, and current finance student Elizabeth King. The summit also included a panel discussion moderated by Gabrielle Nega, Gatton alumna and Associate Consultant at Northern Trust-Wealth Management. The panelists included:
Mallory Ahlbrand, Private Banking Associate at J.P. Morgan, Nasvhille.
Anne Boggess, Capital Markets Consultant at PwC, New York City.
Tenneil Edelen, Senior Financial Analyst at Bank of America, Charlotte.
Kennedy Ekovich, Investment Banking Analyst at Mizuho, New York City.
Taylor Kemper, Financial Analyst at Tempur Sealy International, Lexington.
The panelists shared their insights on a variety of topics, including the challenges and rewards of working in finance, the importance of networking, and how to succeed in a male-dominated industry.
Three Gatton students were awarded scholarships at $2,500 each at the event:
Edison Shipley, Class of 2025, is majoring in Management and Finance, with a minor in Information Studies. Edison is an incoming Finance Analyst at Point72.
Natalie Pogue, Class of 2026, is majoring in Finance. Natalie is a Business Development Intern at MiddleGround Capital.
Ana Cortes, Class of 2027, is an Honors Finance student. Ana was a Valuation intern at PwC this summer.
The Women in Finance Summit was a huge success, providing valuable insights and networking opportunities for attendees and helped to inspire the next generation of women in finance.
